A One-Stop Neuroshop – an exciting new Newby Psychological Services Ltd joint clinic for complex clients with acquired brain injury
Severe brain injury is a complex condition with complex consequences. Such a difficult to manage condition needs complex answers right? Or maybe not… If you have suffered a brain injury yourself think about your own life or if you are a professional who works with brain injury, think about your complex cases. The chances are that there have been times when you’ve been bamboozled by a number of often competing opinions, diagnoses and prognoses. You’ve probably had to wait ages for the appointments and it’s ages before the next one. The professionals involved don’t seem to talk to each other and the costs mount up. Since when has it made sense to fight complexity with confusion? Yet this is often how diagnostic and treatment plans develop around severe brain injury.
At Newby Psychological Services Ltd, we are excited to announce that we will be offering a new Joint Brain Injury Clinic. The clinic will be led by Drs Gavin Newby, Mahesh Odiyoor and Colin Pinder – three experienced consultants in the fields of Clinical Neuropsychology, Neuropsychiatry and Rehabilitation Medicine. At its heart, the Joint Clinic will offer a one-stop-shop approach to the complex challenges of brain injury. By seeing all three disciplines in the same room at the same time we can offer timely, cost-effective and creative intervention solutions. This format has been highly successful in an NHS context and will bring a much needed collaborative approach to private treating clinician work. The Clinics will be offered in the M56 corridor at a very accessible location for the North West and beyond.
